On June 28, 2026, the official website for LONA confirmed that the original TV anime will air in Spring 2027. The reveal matters because it gives the project a broadcast window and, just as importantly, positions the series as a fully original work: there is no manga backlog to catch up on and no earlier anime season to follow. Instead, WIT STUDIO is introducing a new property built around a science-fiction premise and a clearly assembled creative team. The English site describes LONA as an original TV anime series by Akiko Nogi and director Takashi Katagiri. Nogi is known for Unnatural , MIU404 , and Last Mile , while Katagiri previously drew attention for SPY×FAMILY CODE: White .
